Dental bonding is a process that a lot of people aren’t terribly familiar with. At first glance, it sounds like we’re binding teeth together, doesn’t it?

Joking aside, our the team at Steven J. Brazis, DDS in Sacramento, California love to perform dental bonding for patients for whom it’s a good fit. There’s a lot of value to it in a variety of situations. But many people aren’t familiar with the process and what it entails.

If you’re one of those people, don’t worry – we wrote this post to help inform you about the dental bonding process.

What is it?
Dental bonding is a procedure where a clear resin is used to fill in cracks in your teeth or to repair chips. It can be molded and shaped into place, however, if Dr. Steven J. Brazis and you prefer, to ensure you get the best-looking and best-working result.

After the resin is applied and shaped, it’s hardened quickly with a UV light. This makes the treatment complete nearly instantly. All that’s left is for the bonded part of your tooth to be polished and colored to match the color of your natural teeth.

When would I need it?
The best use cases for dental bonding seem to be in cases where you have smaller cracks and chips in your teeth – especially any that are readily visible in your smile. Bonding is a quick, effective, affordable way to restore your smile.

The dental bonding process is simple, but the results it provides are incredible. If you think you may need bonding services for your teeth, please don’t hesitate to call us today at 916-731-5151. Dr. Steven J. Brazis and our team are happy to treat you!
